Getting Back on Track...

feels good. Saturday, after skating with my Pastor's wife I started sharing a little about my weight loss journey with her. Talking about where I was, what I am working on, and what my goal is...well, talking to someone about it (especially a skinny healthy person :-P) sure puts you on your toes! So Monday I did a walking video - 4 miles! - and boy did I feel it! I was dripping sweat and my legs were wabbling. lol But it also felt so good! Tuesday was kind of crazy and I did not walk. Today was also kind of crazy (the story of my life?) but I still did it tonight before bed, doing one mile and then the cool down - appx 25 minutes total. And tomorrow I am planning on doing the full 4 miles...and then taking a shower! lol I am looking forward to reaching my first goal - where I was last Summer...before the holidays - at the Summer and continuing from there.
Repeating myself - it feels so good to be "working out" regularly again. You should try it yourself! :-)

Roller Skating!!!

Finally got around to breaking in my beautiful, brand new roller skates! I have had them for over a month now! I skated in my churches gym with my Pastor's wife who also likes to roller skate. I am hoping to make a weekly habit of it, maybe even try to squeeze it in more than once a week sometimes. We shall see! :-) We skated about 40-45 minutes both times (we have done it twice now) which comes to approximately 500/540 calories burned each time! Gotta love that! Still walking as often as we can as well, though my walking buddy has company for a couple of weeks now so walks will probably be sporadic for a bit. Hoping to get myself to do some walking on my own... :-P

Back to Life!

Well after a very long week of being sick (I think I already mentioned that in my last blog) and then a week of recovery as well as it just not working out, I have finally gotten back to working out. We got dumped with some snow last night but I still ventured forth and my walking buddy and I did a mile. Hey! You have to start small when you have let yourself wear down! lol! Even though I was GREATLY kind of tempted to cancel on her I pushed through and did it anyway. And I was so glad that I did. It was a good way to start the week. And now I won't be as frustrated if I get snowed in tomorrow and we can not walk. (in which case, I will do my best to do something at my house...) Praying this is a good start to a good week! :-)
